Install WordPress
Install WordPress on your domain with WordPress Manager, then sign in to your new site.
WordPress® Manager installs WordPress on one of your websites in one step: it creates a database for it, installs the files and sets up your administrator. Afterwards the same page keeps your sites updated, switches debug mode and resets administrator passwords.
Install WordPress
- In the panel, open Software → WordPress® Manager.
- Under Install WordPress, choose the Website.
- Leave Folder (optional) empty to install on the whole site, or enter one folder name
such as
blogto install atexample.com/blog. - Enter the Site title.
- Enter an Admin user name. The panel does not accept
admin,administratororroot: they are the first names attackers try. - Enter the Admin email. It is filled in with your contact email; change it if you like.
- Enter an Admin password with at least 10 characters, upper- and lower-case letters and numbers, or use Generate. Keep it somewhere safe.
- Click Install WordPress.
Installing takes a minute or two in the background. A strip at the top of the page shows it is in progress, and you
can keep working. When it finishes, the panel says WordPress is ready and reminds you to sign in at /wp-admin with
your admin user name.

Sign in to WordPress
- Open your site's address followed by
/wp-admin, for examplehttps://example.com/wp-admin(orhttps://example.com/blog/wp-adminif you used a folder). - Sign in with the admin user name and password you chose.
Your domain must point to Zeyo Host before visitors, and you, can open the site. See Point your domain to Zeyo Host. Then get a certificate with Secure your site with HTTPS.
Keep it up to date
Your site then appears under Your WordPress sites with its Version, waiting Updates and whether Debug is on. From its row you can:
- update WordPress, its plugins and themes, or everything at once;
- turn debug mode on or off with Debug on / Debug off;
- set a new password for a WordPress user with Reset password.
See WordPress® Manager for details. For other applications, use the App Installer.
Common errors
| Message | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Choose a less obvious name than "admin": it is the first one attackers try. | The admin user name is admin, administrator or root. |
Choose another name. |
| Leave it empty for the whole site, or use one plain folder name. | The folder contains slashes or other characters. | Use one folder name with letters, digits, dashes and underscores. |
| You have reached the limit of your plan. … | Your plan's number of databases is used up, and WordPress needs a new one. | Remove a database you no longer need, or change your plan. |
If the strip at the top says the installation failed, read the reason it gives. A common one is a folder that is not empty: remove its files, or install into a new folder. A failed installation removes the database it created, so it does not count against your plan.
